Corrections

If something here is wrong, we would rather hear it from you than leave it standing. Corrections take priority over new coverage.

Report an error

Email corrections@examsource.in. Three things make a report actionable, and the third matters most:

  • The page it is on, or its address.
  • What we have said, and what it should say.
  • The notice that shows it. A link to the authority’s own document lets us fix it the same day. Without one we have to find it ourselves first, which is slower and sometimes inconclusive.

What happens next

The claim is checked against the authority’s document, not against another site. If we are wrong, the value is superseded rather than overwritten: the old reading stays in the record with the date it stopped being current, so the history of a changing date remains readable.

A correction to a published fact reaches the live pages immediately rather than waiting for the next scheduled check.

Two things that look like errors

A date marked “expected”. That is not a claim the authority has announced it. It is a projection, labelled as one. It becomes a checked date only when a notice says so.

A date that differs from another site. Occasionally we disagree with a widely-repeated figure because the widely-repeated figure is from a previous cycle. Our value links to the notice it came from; if that notice says something different from what we have printed, that is a real error and we want to know.

If it is urgent

For anything time-critical — a registration deadline or an examination date within days — say so in the subject line. And in the meantime, trust the authority’s own site over ours. Every date we publish links to its source for exactly this reason.
