Joint Entrance Examination (Main)

Overview
JEE Main is the national entrance examination for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes at NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutions, and is the qualifying route to JEE Advanced for the IITs. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency in two sessions each year.

NIT eligibility cut-off
A different gate from JEE Main itself: to be considered for NIT, IIIT or GFTI admission through JEE Main, a candidate also needs a Class 12 board score in the top 20 percentile of their own board’s results that year — or the fixed mark below, whichever is lower. CSAB publishes each board’s mark by reservation category. This is not a JEE Main score cut-off.
2026 cycle · “NR” means the board did not publish a figure that year, not that no cut-off applies.
